iZ3D 1.11 Release Candidate 1 Driver Now Available for Download

August 11th, 2010 · No Comments · General 3D News

It has been a while now since iZ3D have last updated their drivers and since the iZ3D version 1.11 beta was first introduced. Now there is a fresh RC1 version of the 1.11 driver available for download that has some improvement and fixes along with new game profiles, maybe the most significant thing is the much better working now support for DirectX 10 games. Have in mind however that this is still a release candidate driver and not a final one, so there can be some other issues and some things still not working perfect. Unfortunately there is still not a word regarding the anticipated 120Hz shutter glasses support for the ATI-based GPUs, so the wait for that is still not over yet and ATI is probably gearing up for the end of the year holiday season availability and not the expected summer release, but we’ll have to wait and see.

iZ3D Released 1.11 Beta Driver with DX9, DX10, and DX11 Support

March 31st, 2010 · 3 Comments · Other S3D Tech

Great news coming from iZ3D, they have just released a new beta driver after some long waiting. And the most interesting thing about the new iZ3D 1.11 Beta Driver is that it comes with support for DX9, DX10, and DX11 and of course works both on ATI and Nvidia hardware as usual. The shutter glasses support is improved by not only adding support to work with the updated ATI drivers, new shutter modes for specific outputs were implemented: Multi-Device, Multi-Threaded, “UserMode” and of course the ATI QuadBuffer. Also a new Vuzix iWear VR920 mode “Without Flush” has been added for the users of this particular HMD device. Another interesting addition is the modes to support 3D-ready 120Hz Projectors and Zalman outputs. There are also some bug fixes and other new features and improvements in the driver, just don’t forget that this is a beta release and not a final driver, so do not expect perfect results from it yet…

Important things to note in the 1.11 beta driver features:
– DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 support is included, but is turned off by default. You can enable it from the Settings section of Control Center. Direct X10 games are not yet fully debugged and DirectX 11 is tested only for samples included in to DirectX 11 SDK.
– SLI / CrossFire (multi-core GPU support). DirectX 10 and 11 have new architecture (command buffer) it may work with multi-core GPU, but certain optimizations are probably still needed.
– New Autofocus algorithm has been implemented. Now it offers smoother adjustment, faster reaction for any changes. You can set very high adjustment speed!
– 3D-ready 120Hz projectors support: you can use certain types of 3D 120Hz projectors (output has EDID based recognition system). Right now the driver supports only models from Vivtek, Viewsonic, Optoma and BenQ. If you have other 120Hz 3D-ready projector you can send you projector name and diagnostic report and it will be added to the list for next driver release. Please keep in mind you need powerful GPU (for ATI you need latest ATI driver with flipping capabilities).

If you want to try the new iZ3D 1.11 beta driver you’ll be more than welcome to share your experience with it and the newly added features and improvements in the comments section below. Also it will be great if you can report any issues you encounter at the respective iZ3D forum (link below), so that they can be fixed in the final 1.11 driver release. I’m going to start my beta testing sessions a bit later today… ;)
