LG Electronics Will Continue Working With DDD’s TriDef 3D Software

July 23rd, 2012 · No Comments · General 3D News

DDD has just announced that they’ve got the license agreement with LG Electronics to bundle DDD’s TriDef 3D software with LG’s growing line of 3D PC products renewed for two more years. This extension of the agreement between the two companies will allow LG to bundle the TriDef 3D software for playing games in stereoscopic 3D mode and viewing 3D video clips on their range of notebooks, all-in-one PCs and monitors relying on passive 3D technology. Furthermore the line of 3D-capable PC products from LG will also include a selection of original 3D movie trailers from the growing library of high definition 3D movies available at DDD’s 3D content portal Yabazam.

You know, it is not like LG has a lot of choices here, now that the development of the iZ3D Driver has been stopped officially (the unfortunate fate of that software is probably due to the trouble of getting big OEM partners to license it for their 3D products). It is easier to just continue working with a company that offers what you need at a reasonable price and you are happy with the relations you’ve had with it so far. The only other alternative that LG had is to go for Nvidia’s “Optimized for GeForce” program intended for passive 3D solutions, however with TriDef 3D you can use any kind of GPU, unlike with Nvidia’s solution where you need to have an Nvidia-based graphics card.

So it is actually not that much of a surprise that LG continues to work with DDD and their TriDef 3D software and there is another major collaboration effort between these two companies that started recently. DDD and LG are already collaborating to introduce 3D gaming to the quite big I-Cafe market in China, estimated at over 144,000 locations. According to DDD the beta testing of the new TriDef enabled I-Cafe software on PC’s equipped with LG 3D-capable monitors began in select I-Cafe locations earlier this month.

Currently the list of OEM partners that DDD is licensing their TriDef 3D software is actually quite big and it covers two of the major players – Samsung that is key player in the active 3D segment and LG in the passive 3D segment. Along with them there are also companies like AOC, HP and ViewSonic, though they have less 3D-capable products as compared to LG and Samsung for example.

WealthTV 3D Programming Will Be Available Online on Yabazam

July 14th, 2012 · No Comments · 3D Movies & Videos

DDD has managed to get a deal with WealthTV to make available their lineup of 3D programming online on Yabazam 3D content distribution network operated by DDD. WealthTV is an American television network that has been delivering original high definition programming 24 hours a day since 2004. The programming lineup provides viewers with a vicarious look into what people dream of, from exotic travel destinations to outrageous cars, to the finest in culinary delights. WealthTV began producing stereoscopic television episodes over two years ago and currently their 3D programming covers a wide range of topics including adventure travel, automotive, documentaries and more. This means that Yabazam, DDD’s digital video portal for watching high definition 3D content is finally going to get a lot of new and fresh stereoscopic 3D content, the lack of which has been a bit on an issue for them. The lack of new fresh 3D content on a regular basis along with the fact that on PC the access to the content of the website is available only to people actually using the DDD TriDef 3D software. DDD has however enabled access to the 3D content available on Yabazam for owners of smart 3D HDTVs made by LG and Samsung…

New 3D episodes from WealthTV will be released on Yabazam on a regular basis, from series including Wonders of the World, Take Off, Private Islands, and Boys Toys. And the first two episodes from WealthTV programs are already available on Yabazam as a result of the agreement between the two companies – Boys Toys “Hoosier Daddy” and Takeoff “Peru” (the trailer is embedded above), with both available for purchase for $3.99 USD. And hopefully soon we’ll be seeing a lot more interesting new content being made available and meanwhile you can go check some 3D footage if you have the compatible hardware to play it.

Visit DDD’s online 3D video distribution platform Yabazam for more information…

DDD TriDef 3D Ignition 3.5.18 Beta 4 Software Now Available

May 16th, 2012 · 9 Comments · General 3D News

DDD has just released a new beta version of their TriDef 3D Ignition software for playing games in stereoscopic 3D mode (it is just the Ignition software, not the whole TriDef 3D package) and it is something that you might want to try out, especially if you play Battlefield 3 in stereo 3D. TriDef 3D Ignition 3.5.18 Beta 4 provides a better stereoscopic 3D profile for Battlefield 3, it also adds profile for the recently released Diablo 3 and fixes some other things.

TriDef 3D Ignition 3.5.18 Beta 4 changelog:

– Added new game profiles for Diablo 3 and other games.
– Improved performance of Power 3D in DX10/11.
– Fixed a few visual bugs in Battlefield 3 and Batman Arkham CIty.
– Fixed a game launch issue in Windows 8.
– Added a search box in the Add Game dialog.

According to a just published stereoscopic 3D review of Battlefield 3 over at MTBS3D, the profile for Battlefield 3 in the latest beta of Ignition makes the stereoscopic 3D experience while playing the game with DDD TeiDef 3D Ignition better looking than using the game’s native stereo 3D rendering on AMD HD3D and Nvidia 3D Vision. With the best part being the lack of “flatness” when you are in a vehicle or in the cutscenes, something that is happening when using the native stereo 3D rendering from the game. And although this might’ve been something made intentionally by the game developers, most stereoscopic 3D gamers usually prefer to have more depth than to have things appearing “flat”. Another thing that apparently works quite well with the game is the Shift One Eye, Dominant Eye feature also recently introduced by DDD. If you try the new beta software with Battlefield 3 feel free to share your feedback below and the same goes if you are already playing Diablo 3 and want to test it with the new profile added in TriDef 3D Ignition 3.5.18 Beta 4. And just a reminder, this is a beta software, so there could be some issues.
