How to Help Nvidia Get Your 3D HDTV Supported by 3DTV Play

April 16th, 2011 · 4 Comments · General 3D News

If you have an HDMI 1.4(a)-capable 3D HDTV, monitor or projector and you want to use it with 3D content coming from your PC, then one of the options is to use Nvidia’s 3DTV Play software, provided that you have a compatible video card. And although Nvidia is trying to support most of the 3D-capable HDMI 1.4(a) products if you get a less popular or a very new product it might not yet be officially supported. For a list of currently supported HDMI 1.4(a) products by the 3DTV Play software. You can however help speed up the addition by following this set of instructions and in the next driver/software update it might be supported.

– Download the Monitor Asset Manager utility, install it and start it.
– Click on “File” and choose “Save as”. Please name the file with your name, for instance “john_doe_3DTV.bin”
– Visit the NVIDIA support site, click on the tab “Submit an Issue” and fill out the information in the table. Make sure to include your TV Manufacturer and Exact Model Number in the Product Name Field and include the .bin in the report under the section called “Attach Documents” to the Question.

Nvidia 3DTV Play Support Update Utility Extends Compatibility

November 18th, 2010 · 10 Comments · GeForce 3D Vision

It seems that Nvidia is working hard in further improving the support for the 3DTV Play before releasing it as a standalone product probably by the end of this month. They just made available an update utility (not a standalone driver release!) that needs to be installed over GeForce driver v260.99 or v262.99 in order to update the list of supported 3D TVs by adding 18 new models from manufacturers like Philips, Samsung, Sony and Vizio. The update is more important for owners of owners of Samsung 3D-capable TVs that were not supported as the update introduces support for 9 additional models and if yours is still not in the list, then you can help Nvidia to add it by reporting your TV’s EDID info to them.

The list of 18 new HDMI 1.4 TVs that are now supported:
