XpanD presented new X103 universal active shutter glasses.

They say:

What type of display can I use with XpanD X103?

Every 3D ready platform including LCD, plasma, DLP TVs, and XpanD cinema.

How is this possible? Every display has it's own IR emitter, are this glasses really compatible with all of them?

What about PCs + monitors that obviously do not have they're own IR emitter?

:?: :?: :?:

XpanD Universal glasses operate with multiple communication methods and support a very wide range of stereoscopic applications from Cinema to TV.

They've just built support for different infrared synchronization signals, so that the glasses can synchronize with different "technologies" and thus work with different solutions. But saying universal and working with all solutions is a bit too much. They probably don't work with 3D Vision's IR emitter (or do they?)... and there is no list of supported solutions available on XpanD's website... ;)

i don't think their behaviour is correct...what about new products that will be released in the future, how can they say these glasses will be compatible? :?:

How can i buy this product without a list of supported solutions ?_?

i don't understand...

Moreover, it seems there is not the possibility to by a IR emitter to use them with PC and 120 Hz panels that do not have their own...

i think 3D market is getting to complicated, we absolutely need some standardization...!!!
