Hello,

I recently purchased a Alienware OptX AW2310 3D Monitor:

I have noticed that at the top of the monitor there is a dull white blur that goes across the screen. it is barely noticeable, however i can see it in dark screens and it is slightly annoying. dark video games, dark video, dark desktop background, etc. is where i notice the white blur (back light bleeding). I have not used this monitor with 3d yet, as I have not received my 3d vision kit yet. Overall the monitor is amazing despite the minor backlight issue. I am willing to keep the monitor unless something newer and better comes out. I understand that back light bleeding is common in many LCD monitors and TVs, however I would like to know if there are any 3d-ready 22 inch -24 inch monitors that have no back light bleeding at all?

Any recommendations from the following list would be appreciated:

I am specifically looking for one in the the 1920x1080 Desktop Displays list and the 1680x1050 Desktop Displays list. If any of those have no backlight bleeding please let me know? And a link to buy them would be appreciated? Thanks.

Unfortunately I'll have to disappoint you, as all of the currently available on the market 3D-capable LCD monitors seem to suffer from backlight bleeding to some extent - more or less. The only one I haven't seen/tested in person was the Alienware and you just confirmed that it also has some backlight bleeding. So it seems we'll have to wait for new models, maybe this will be improved with the first new models that will be using LEDs for backlight instead of the currently available models using only CCFLs. We'll have to wait and see, but in the end the having some backlight bleeding is not something you cannot live with, it is just a bit annoying to have on a not so cheap monitor... ;)

Thanks for writing back. I guess I will keep this monitor as the color and the clarity is possibly the best I have ever seen in a monitor or TV. the large assortment of stand adjustments, four usb ports, audio in, audio out, and hdmi are all excellent features also.

Have you had a chance to use the 3D capability of the monitor with the Nvidia 3D Vision? If so, how did you like it and how did it compare to the other few 120Hz LCD monitors out there? Thanks.

The Alienware is still not available where I live, so I haven't seen it and cannot compare it to all of the other monitors (I've tested all the rest), but from what I've read it is pretty much on the same level as the Acer GD235Hz/GD245HQ...

All the reviews of the monitor on Dell's website are all 100% positive. I think I might leave a good review for them as well.

You will be pleasantly surprised when you get one to review/ use. When I receive my 3D Vision kit and new computer, I will add my own mini review to this forum. Thanks again for creating this forum it is a nice extension to the Nvidia forums and 3D in general.
