Hi everyone,

Few years (2009) ago I bought a Samsung A450 series plasma tv (PN42A450P1D). At the time I didn't know it was 3D capable. Just last year checking the manual I found it has a 3D sync output in the back. After I found it, I started to read in the internet about 3D movies, 3D video players and 3D glasses.

My plasma TV doesn't have a built-in emitter, then I have to buy one. It happens the Samsung doesn't sell this emitter/glasses set anymore, the I bought a IR emitter and a pair of active 3D glasses compatible with the emitter. I connected the emitter to the 3D sync out of the TV and play a 3D movie with bino but it doesn't seem it is working. The TV has three different 3D modes: checkboard, vertical interleave and horizontal interleave (as also bino has). When I switch to one of these 3 modes, the some LED indicator in the IR emitter lights on, but no luck see anything like 3D (just images with ghosts). I followed the instructions in the glasses manual to synchronize the glasses with the emitter, but no luck. Below a list of components

Plasma TV: PN42A450P1D
3D player: bino
OS: Linux (XBMCbuntu)
Video card: intel on-board with HDMI output (most probable not OpenGL Stereo capable)
Movie: some example from bino website
Emitter: High Power IR emitter
Glasses: Universal 3D glasses (IR and bluetooth capable)

Do I need a replace one (or more) of video card, video player, emitter/glasses?

Any comment will be appreciated.
