New Nvidia GeForce 314.07 WHQL Graphics Drivers are Available

February 18th, 2013 · 2 Comments · GeForce 3D Vision

Nvidia has just released a new WHQL graphics driver that seems to be mostly targeted at the upcoming release of Crysis 3 that should start appearing worldwide in the next few days starting from tomorrow in North America. EA’s recommended GeForce GPU for Crysis 3 is a GeForce GTX 560 or higher and for the Hi-Performance PC Specification, EA recommends GeForce GTX 680, and that is for playing the game in 2D mode not in stereo 3D mode. Crysis 3 will of course support stereoscopic 3D rendering natively as it is a part of the CryEngine 3 that the game is based on, so good news for the stereoscopic 3D gamers, though there is no clear information yet if the game will support Full Dual View rendering or not. Still the new graphics driver adds profile for Crysis 3 and it the game is rated as “Excellent” for 3D Vision. Aside from the Crysis 3 3D Vision profile, the new drivers include profiles for Dead Space 3 – rated Poor, and Resident Evil 6 – rated Good. The rest is performance improvements.

Dead Space 3 – Rated poor????? Even without Helix fix it should be rated as good, as if you turn shadows off, it looks pretty good despite some minor issues.
Bloody, I’m not sure if you’ve tried Dead Space 3 yet, but using Helix fix it’s looking better than most of the 3D Vision Ready games I’ve played. It’s perfect all the way, I haven’t found one single issue in 3D so far. This game is a true 3D showcase!!!!!!

Try Helix for DS3 and also Farcry 3 fix and you won’t be disapointed. Both games look amazing with 3D Vision, but DS3 is even better, looks perfect in 3D, not even minor issues after the fix.

Can hardly wait to try out Crysis 3, this is a game worth buying. I really don’t care if Crysis 3 won’t have true dual render 3D. I wish it did support, so I could at least try and see if my PC won’t melt. But just knowing that Crytek made the game in DX11 and it’s not supporting DX9, it means they want full attention from us PC gamers and enthusiasts. They want to deliver the best graphics and gameplay ever, and that’s enough for me to be happy about it. They didn’t make the same mistake with Crysis 2 consoled graphics. They heard us, the PC community….

Let’s hope they will let us try real dual render 3D, but I suspect even with a GTX 690 and i7 2600K, my PC will suffer to keep good FPS in this game if we have this option available, cause I don’t like to lower graphics settings, only AA.

When is Resident Evil finally 6 coming out for PC, do you know if it will support 3D Vision, like R5 did?
