Nvidia Has Released Graphic Drivers Version 285.79 Beta

November 11th, 2011 · 6 Comments · GeForce 3D Vision

Yesterday Nvidia has released a new beta graphics driver version 285.79 beta with the focus yet again being improving the performance and fixing issues with the game Battlefield 3, without a doubt one of the most played games at the moment. Unfortunately there is still not patch for the game available to enable the stereoscopic 3D support, so we’ll have to wait even more for that to happen. Regarding improvements in 3D Vision support, it is mostly profile/rating updates and new profiles, but nothing that significant…

Added or updated the following 3D Vision game profiles:

– Airline Tycoon 2 – rated Fair
– Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – rated Good
– Batman: Arkham City – updated rating to 3D Vision Ready
– Deus Ex: Human Revolution – rated Excellent
– The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – rated Excellent
– FIFA 12 – rated Good
– Hard Reset – updated rating to 3D Vision Ready
– inMomentum – rated Fair
– The Lord of the Rings: War in the North
– Smash Cars – rated Fair
– Two Worlds 2: Castle Defense – rated Good
– Zombie Driver – rated Excellent

I can say that I’m a bit surprised that the update does not include a profile for the game L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition. Another surprise for me is the fact that currently the game Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is only rated Good and the game should be a native stereo 3D title and officially have support for 3D Vision.

    from the official nvidia forum…

Please note: Because this is a hot fix driver, we are not providing Windows XP and Windows XP 64-bit drivers for this driver release version. Release notes are also not available for driver 285.79.”

Does anybody know if this update includes the promised support for Sony’s HMZ1?

No, I don’t think so, Nvidia would probably note the addition of support for the Sony HMZ-T1…

Now battlefield 3 shows 3d vision ready right on the nvidia website. Am I missing something? (Besides the 3d patch)

Hmmm this driver breaks 3d vision for me, as it wont allow me to pick ‘Generic CRT’ as my device in the 3d vision setup wizard.

I wonder if it fixes the night sky at wrong depth in Skyrim because other than that the game looks great in 3d.
