Asus VG278H 3D Monitor with 3D Vision 2 Ready For Testing…

October 30th, 2011 · 69 Comments · GeForce 3D Vision

I have a little teaser for you, an Asus VG278H 3D monitor with 3D Vision 2 ready for testing. I’ll be testing the display in the next few days, so soon you can expect a detailed review of the stereo 3D performance of the first 3D monitor equipped with Nvidia’s 3D Lightboost technology very soon. Meanwhile feel free to ask for things you want to know about the monitor or things you want tested on it. And if you are currently considering what new 3D monitor to get, then I’d recommend you to wait a bit more…

Is it really worth it to get the new glasses?

i was thinking of just replacing the monitor with the upcoming benq monitor, and using my old 3dvision set on that one.

currently using the samsung 2233rz and the ghosting in bright scenes are terrible

I would really like to know what black level it has and a subsequent contrast ratio. And does it have any light bleeding. I would really like to use it for watching movies as well as playing games.

Can you test this out on a PS3?

I have found this on the KSN website for £511

I so keen to get my hands on one of these, but I know that we all have to pay the premium price if we buy this on release. I think I might wait til after christmas to allow for test results to be published online and for a price drop

I am hoping the full review will be up soon. I assume it will be pretty in depth since it isn’t out already, so that is a good thing.

Input lag tested against that of a CRT would be very much appreciated.

    Hi Bloody,
Following your review I had bought the Acer HN274H, which I have been very satisfied with. But I am really interested in the new glasses and the lightboost technology, so I am thinking of buying also the Asus VG278H and keeping the Acer as a dual monitor. Could you please mention in your review how the Asus compares to the Acer, particularly in term of ghosting/crosstalk? Thanks a lot!

Despite the generally positive reviews on other sites, I’m not even considering this monitor until Bloody gives it his seal of approval.
