How Does Your 3D Setup Look Like and What Are You Using for 3D

May 16th, 2011 · 32 Comments · Other S3D Tech

On the picture above you can see a demo 3D Vision Surround system from Nvidia, but how does your 3D setup look like at home? In the comments below you can post a link to a photo of your 3D setup along with a short description about the hardware you are using. Maybe we can further grow this into a dedicated gallery with different 3D setups at a later time, so that other people considering going 3D may get some nice ideas about what and how to get to make the most out of their 3D experience.

An example description:

– 3D Vision Surround setup
– 3x 23.6″ Acer GD245HQ monitors
– GeForce GTX 590 Dual-GPU video card
– Asus Sabertooth P55 Motherboard
– Intel Core i5 i750 quad-core processor
– 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz Kingston memory
– 2x 1TB Western Digital Black in RAID 0
– 1000W Cooler Master Silent Pro PSU
– Razer Mamba wireless gaming mouse
– Logitech G15 Gaming keyboard
– …

You are of course welcome to share additional details about the hardware and software being used, things about cooling or overclocking or more than just a single photo of your 3D setup. So now you can feel free to brag about what you have at home by sharing a photo of your setup and describing what you are using below… ;)

Thanks Alessandro, can you also post a picture of your setup?

Unfortunately I haven’t photos with me, and from monday till friday I live in another city (I can use it only during the weekend). It’s a quiet Old system, the most important thing is that I use a VPR Acer H5360 3d ready .
It’s very immersive to play with a screen of 3,1 m x 1,70 (I watch it from a 5m distance) and because the native resolution it’s only 1280×720 I can play all the latest games with all the graphics effects and 3d on without problems even with a 120€ graphic card.

Macbook Pro 13″, PS3, Xbox 360 and acer 5360BD projector which has native 3D suport over 1.4HDMI so basicaly you dont need another box to see 3d content, i even try to put 3d clip directly from mine iphone/ipad to the pj and it works :)

    Intel Core2Duo 2.8Ghz
    4GB Ram
    Nvidia 9600M GT
    Acer h5360
    4.3m x 2.3m screen
    Teufel 5.1 Thx surround system

The big screen is great for 3d movies, unfortunately my Laptop is quite slow so I have have to play most games on the lowest graphics settings. And I own the original h5360 version without hdmi 1.4 support, so it doesn’t work with my PS3 :(

The photo isn’t super recent, but it still looks fairly similar. I’ve upgraded to a better driving wheel and butt-kicker sub woofers since this photo.

The pc is a Intel Core I7 overclocked to 3800 MHZ.
    The graphics are SLI GTX480’s

I also have the Acer 3dvision projector :)

Here is a poorly aligned youtube video which attempts to demonstrate the experience.

    Nvidia 3D Vision
    Sennheiser PC350 Headset
    Logitec X-240 2.1 Subwoofer
    Razer Lycosa Mirror Keyboard
    Razer Orochi Mouse

Here’s a short video of my case, it doesn’t show the 3D Vision as it’s focused on the watercooling setup:

It’s a bit old video, I had only the 460 yet. Planning to put the 580 on water loop this month.
Later this year I will get another 3D Vision glasses and a SSD to use as boot drive. Next year, come on Ivy Bridge!
    See ya!
