It is tweaked to be used with the specific settings the camera has and reports when being used, so you should not try to use it with other S3D cameras, only get it if you have the Panasonic AG-3DA1 3D camcorder. The IOD Caclulator calculates the inter-ocular distance needed for each camera setup based on measurements from the actual set on your iPhone. The IOD Calculator is available in a free Junior version as well as commercial version with the only difference being that the free Jnr version is limited to 1m or smaller display screens. iRiS S3D StereoScopic Base and Disparity Calc for Android

This application is a 3D Stereoscopic Base and Disparity Cinematography Calculator designed for mobile phones using Google’s Android OS, with it you can calculate the Interocular Stereo Base for Parallel mounted Camera Pairs. You need to select the camera type, the sensor active area, the lens type, the projection screen size and resolution and the parallax target to get the correct settings for your setup. You can purchase the application from the Android Market for about $20 USD at the moment.

BaseCalc for Windows Mobile

The BaseCalc application is a small and simple calculator that enables the stereophoptographer to compute, on the field, the appropriate stereo base through their Windows Mobile / PocketPC devices. The calculator is available completely free, but it is also not as pretty and advanced as most of the above commercial applications mentioned above for iPhone or Android-based devices. Still it may be useful for more basic calculation of the interaxial distance in order to quickly get results. Have in mind that the formula being used in this calculator application is not intended to be used for closeup macro stereo photography.

    I use the 3D ST app. I find it quite good with it’s frequent updates including more and more screen,sensor,lens etc sizes and models, makes it a good buy even now at £23.99, but lucky owners like me have bought it almost a year ago when it was only something really cheap like under £5 as far as I remember.
