DDD has released an updated version of their TriDef 3D software package for viewing of movies, photos and games in stereoscopic 3D mode on compatible devices. TriDef 3D is pretty much the only major alternative of 3D Vision left after the iZ3D Driver development and support has been completely stopped. The TriDef 3D package is compatible with all GPUs and supports various stereoscopic 3D display methods.
Here are the main improvements in the new version:
– Added support for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier*, Max Payne 3, Drakensang Online, Risen 2, Quantum Conundrum, Spec Ops: The Line, Prototype 2, Orcs Must Die! 2, Depth Hunter, KungFu Strike and various other games
– Advanced shadow handling algorithms have been applied to Dead Space 2, Dirt 3 (DX9), Crysis (DX9), Trine 2 and Total War Shogun 2
– Improved support for Lego: Indiana Jones 2, Unreal Tournament 3, Avatar, Call of Juarez, Gears of War, Stormrise, Universe at War: Earth Assault, Shattered Horizon, Cryostasis, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Resident Evil 5, Civilization V, Alan Wake, Metro 2033, Lost Planet 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Medal of Honor – Multiplayer, The Lord of the Rings Online and various other games
* The latest patch (1.4) for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier adds native support for TriDef 3D. If TriDef 3D is installed and licensed then Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will use TriDef 3D automatically (no need to launch the game from TriDef 3D Ignition). The in-game Graphics Options menu includes a Stereoscopic 3D option which can be used to toggle TriDef 3D on/off (it’s on by default if TriDef 3D is installed).
