Neil Schneider from MTBS3D has made an interesting interview with Roy Taylor, Executive Vice President and General Manager for MasterImage 3D during CES 2011. The topic of the interview is of course autostereoscopic 3D displays and solutions in general as this is one of the areas of expertise for the company, but Roy Taylor shares a lot of interesting things. The major thing that is going to be big this year in mobile gaming is stereo 3D along with the huge interest in the next generation of smartphones and tablets powered by powerful mobile processors such as Nvidia’s Tegra 2. Apparently Tegra 2 has more than enough potential to provide stereoscopic 3D capabilities to the devices it powers and by the end of this year we are probably going to be able to game in stereo 3D mode on a portable Tegra 2-based tablets and/or smartphones equipped with autostereoscopic 3D displays. So Nintendo 3DS will apparently have some serious mobile gaming competition this year, especially considering the possibility to have a mobile “3D Vision” solution available to turn every 3D game into a stereo 3D game on mobile devices just like on a desktop PC…
