Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox and Lightstorm Entertainment have just announced that James Cameron’s movie TITANIC will be re-released in 3D worldwide on April 6th in 2012. The release date marks the 100th anniversary of the Titanic setting sail (April 10th) and 2012 is also the 100th anniversary of the Paramount and of course we are talking about a 2D to 3D conversion of the original movie, not re-shooting it in 3D. The new “3D” version of Titanic will be digitally re-mastered at 4K and converted to 3D, and knowing how James Cameron loves to take the time to make things properly and loves precision of details we can expect a very convincing conversion. But we’ll have to wait and see what will James Cameron present with this conversion of Titanic and will it be able to make for 2D to 3D movie conversions what Avatar did for the 3D movies…

So what is your opinion on that and would you go and watch Ttianinc re-released in 3D next year?
