TOOB plans to manufacture and sell the world’s first affordable dome displays. TOOB has spent the last 2 years developing its 2nd generation product TOOB Earth. The founders have taken the company from concept to a pre-production stage, but need your help to purchase the tooling and raw materials in volume to enable the first production runs. With tooling in place the company can then take commercial orders and the momentum you will create will carry the company into the next phase, which is full scale production.

Don’t you hate it when you go to see a 3D movie and the pair of 3D glasses you are given looks like crap, isn’t comfortable when worn, is dirty although it was supposed to be washed and disinfected after the previous use and so on. Apparently a more and more people do mind that fact and prefer to come with their own personal pair of 3D glasses and not just the plain cheap glasses that you get in the movie theater, but with designer 3D glasses instead. And thus it is no wonder that a lot of big and popular companies making designer glasses started offering designer 3D glasses intended for 3D movie fans as well…
But there are new companies appearing on the market that are solely focused on making good designer 3D glasses and such is the case with the company called Ingri:Dahl that just recently introduced their first product. The first style of glasses being released by Ingri:Dahl has been inspired by classic Hollywood and is named “James” after James Dean, with the 3D glasses currently selling for 29.50 US dollars. These 3D glasses are compatible with all screens using passive 3D technology, meaning RealD and MasterImage theaters and the passive 3D HDTVs made by LG, Vizio, Toshiba, JVC and other brands.
When mentioning designer 3D glasses a lot of people usually ask why would anyone wear an expensive set of glasses in a dark movie theater when nobody will be able to see him… well, no need of vanity here, because it is up to you to choose your own style and wear what 3D glasses you like. If you like the design, find the glasses more comfortable to wear and want to enjoy better quality and longer lasting product why should you care what anyone else thinks or even sees what glasses you are wearing. I personally like the more classical Hollywood look of the “James” 3D glasses by Ingri:Dahl than what other more popular big brands are tying to push with more modern styles in their products.
And I’m still wondering why nobody has started offering designer 3D glasses for other passive 3D technologies such as Dolby 3D or IMAX 3D, these can also benefit from better design and some times even quality too, and why not even designer 3D active shutter glasses?
