Here is something interesting in terms of mobile stereo 3D support coming from Qualcomm, a Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor in action on a 10-inch mobile development platform tablet (MSM8960 3D Edition). The tablet features a Full HD glasses-free 3D display with WUXGA (1920×1200) resolution from MasterImage 3D. There is also a stereo 3D camera on the back (8Mp sensors) and in the front (2Mp Sensors) of the device allowing you to capture not only 3D photos, but also to do video conference calls in stereo 3D.
And now the question that a lot of people are already asking is when are we going to see Qualcomm’s partners start releasing 3D-capable tablets based on this developer design… unfortunately we’ll have to wait some more before actually get the ability to purchase a device based on that design and especially with the impressive autostereoscopic 3D displays, hopefully we’ll have to wait just a few more months.
Here is a stereoscopic 3D trailer for the upcoming movie the Extreme Nature of Bats from PassmoreLab, a 3D science movie that tries to uncover the truth, destroy the myths and explain the dark legends hovering around these interesting creatures for hundreds of year. And the Full HD stereoscopic 3D trailer for the movie really looks very impressive, so you should definitely go and watch the full 35 minute movie in 3D. The 3D trailer is in 1080p full resolution and in Side by Side format, so make sure to choose these when opening it in the 3D Vision Video Player or the Stereoscopic Player. As usual, if you download and watch the video please share your comments below…
Thanks to Matheus we now have a short stereoscopic 3D trailer for the animated movie Monster House available for download in a Full HD Side by Side stereo format. The animation is a bit old (I haven’t seen it in a movie theater), form 2006, but it seems that soon it will be available on Blu-ray 3D, so you should take a look at what you can expect from the movie. The stereo 3D effect seemed quite good in the trailer, although I noticed that there are some annoying cuts the the characters, especially their heads on the top, that should be popping out of the screen and it can be a bit uncomfortable. Anyway the stereo 3D trailer seems to be from a movie release as its aspect ratio is wider, in a 16:9 version for Blu-ray 3D there might be no issues with that (I hope), so the experience will most likely be more comfortable. If you download and watch the trailer you are more than welcome to share your comments about it and the movie in the comments section below.
