Nvidia has released an updated 3D Vision beta driver that has just one thing noted as changed – the profile for James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game. Lately Nvidia has been quite active, especially around this title addressing various issues that were available in the game demo with the full game expected to be available in the next few days. Avatar is now rated as Excellent and it works very well with the new drivers and the performance while in stereoscopic 3D mode is a bit improved! Also don’t forget to install the latest beta video drivers with the same version – 195.62, or just download and install the Full 3D Vision CD v1.17 that includes all the needed drivers in one package.

Thanks to Acer I now have one of their Acer Aspire 3D laptops for more extensive testing, so you’ll also be seeing some useful articles regarding this laptop and its stereoscopic 3D capabilities along with the frequent 3D Vison posts. Just to remind you that unlike the 120Hz display and active glasses used by 3D Vision, Acer’s laptop relies on passive polarization of the display and passive circular polarized glasses worn by user. As for the software part, the 3D-capable laptop is relying on DDD’s TriDef Ignition software that offers video card independent stereoscopic 3D support – works both on ATI and Nvidia hardware.

Nvidia has released an updated 3D Vision beta driver that has important game fixes that a lot of people waited in order to be able to properly play in Stereoscopic 3D mode, because they were unplayable or did not provide good enough results without profiles. One of the most important things in the new 3D Vision beta 195.55 drivers is the Avatar game profile made for the recently released demo of the game that had some issues, but along it there are other important things like fixes for Borderlands and COD: Modern Warfare 2. Also don’t forget to install the latest beta video drivers with the same version – 195.55, but have in mind that the 3D Vision driver included in the GeForce 195.55 Beta package is older than the separate 3D Vision driver with the same version number!
