Gumball 3000 Stereoscopic 3D Video – 2011 London Start Day

Welcome to the crazy world of Gumball 3000, this short 3D video from the 2011 Gumball 3000 rally start day in London that was shot and shared by iWATCH3D, using the Sony HDR-TD10E consumer 3D camcorder for shooting Sony Vegas 11 for editing it. You are sure to enjoy it as it shows some really nice cars in good 3D, so no reason not to take a look. Below you will also find a download link for the YouTube 3D video embedded above in Side by Side format, so you can download it on your computer and watch it using the 3D Vision Video Player or the Stereoscopic player (don’t forget to select 16:9 aspect). Onsight 3D Free Plugin for Editing 3D Video with Final Cut Pro

The Onsight 3D is an easy to use, free of charge, non-watermarked Final Cut Pro 3D plugin that allows Mac OS X users to edit quickly and easily stereoscopic 3D video. The plugin offers easy access to the most common 3D correction control that you might need when importing stereo 3D content – horizontal and vertical alignment, keystone correction, scale and rotation adjustment, sync adjustment and flipping. With the Onsight OS 3D you can import two separate streams for left and right or a Side by Side format videos and export in Side by Side, Anaglyph or separate left and right streams. The OS 3D plugin only works with 1920×1080 HD files and is compatible with FCP 7, earlier versions of FCP may also be supported, but it is not compatible with the latest Final Cut Pro X. This plugin can be an useful addition considering it is a free one, so you can try it out if you work on Mac and use Final Cut Pro for editing. Of course there are other commercial alternatives also available that offer a lot more functionality such as the Stereo3D Toolbox from Dashwood Cinema Solutions for example, so you might want to also check it out.

Mint Julep – To the Sea, an Experimental 3D Wiggle Music Video

You have probably seen some animated 3D photos using the wiggle method to create the illusion of depth in a photo by quickly rotating the left and right eye views of a 3D photo (and with more than two views for more convincing and seamless effect), but here comes what is probably the first 3D video using this method. To the Sea is a an experimental music video of the group Mint Julep using 3D wiggle and the end result is actually quite good and interesting to watch, so do take a look and feel free to leave your comments about it below.

Journey 2 and The Hobbit Official 3D Trailers in German

It seems that in Germany Warner Bros has an official YouTube channel where today they’ve started uploading 3D movie trailers for their new movies and the first one is for the movie Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, have in mind though that the audio is in German. You can watch the stereo 3D trailer embedded above in YouTube 3D format, this movie apparently as been shot in 3D and is not a conversion and if you still haven’t seen it in the cinema, it just recently premiered, then you might get an idea on what to expect from the 3D in it. Here you can also find the 3D trailer with English audio, although the video appears to be made for the Russian market.

The second stereo 3D trailer also available in the channel is for the upcoming movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, also shot in 3D and with audio in German. The Hobbit is still a bit far from appearing in movie theaters, it should premiere near the end of this year, so the trailer might give you some idea on what to expect from it as well. Again this movie as with Journey 2 is being shot in 3D and is not a conversion to 3D, so the expectations are quite high, especially considering what story the movies is based on. Skittles 3D Commercial Shot with Panasonic AG-3DP1 3D Camcorder

Here is an interesting new 3D commercial video for Skittles titled The Staring Contest that was shot with the new Panasonic AG-3DP1 3D camcorder. The commercial is available in YouTube 3D, so you can watch it with multiple viewing methods and as all Skittles commercials it is a bit strange and with some humor inside, so it is fun to watch. The Simple Carnival – Everything That Grownups Know 3D Music Video

Here is a stereo 3D music video from a music band called The Simple Carnival and their song Everything That Grownups Know. The 3D music video uses 2D-like animation in stereo 3D format and is a part of their Smitten 3D music album that will have such animated stereoscopic 3D videos for all the songs in it. Smitten 3D is The Simple Carnival’s second full length album, but instead of being an audio CD or an album meant to be heard without images, it will be a 40-minute animated movie in stereoscopic 3D format. And according to the authors of the project the fact that everything in the animated stereo 3D music video looks like cardboard cutouts is entirely on purpose. The full album should be released as a 3D Blu-ray disc and there will be an anaglyph DVD version as well, but there will also be complete 3D videos of the songs from the album like the one embedded above also published online. You can take a look at the YouTube 3D video above or download the same clip from the link below in Side by Side format to watch it on your computer with the 3D Vision Video Player or the Stereoscopic Player, do not forget to select 16:9 aspect ratio when opening it. Short Stereoscopic 3D Video from the Seychelles Islands

Here is a short stereoscopic 3D trailer of a documentary about the Seychelles shot by Coral Climb. In it you can see some exotic locations with nice stereoscopic 3D effect, there is also some time-lapse 3D footage, the video was shot using Canon 5Ds. Interesting Stereo 3D Video Interview with DDD taken at the CES 2012

One more video interview in stereo 3D format taken by Neil Schneider from MTBS during this years CES, this time the “victims” are Chris Yewdall (CEO) and Larry Wang (VP of Business Development) for Dynamic Digital Depth or DDD in short. This time the video is a bit long as the guys from DDD have some interesting things to share, because unlike iZ3D that are being quite silent for a while, DDD is quite active in partnering not only with AMD for stereoscopic 3D gaming, but with a lot more companies licensing their stereoscopic 3D technologies. And just to let know all of you that might not know it, DDD’s TriDef 3D software solution is also compatible with Nvidia-based GPUs, so it not only works on ATI/AMD-based hardware, but of course you need to have a compatible stereo 3D-capable display solution as well.

Lately DDD is also very actively partnering with companies offering autostereoscopic 3D display solutions, as well as companies offering additional accessories for converting 2D displays into stereoscopic 3D-capable ones such as Sony with their VAIO S laptops. DDD’s 3D technologies have also been licensed by many HDTV manufacturers, especially the automatic 2D to 3D conversion from DDD. So take a look at the interview for some interesting insight into what the company offers at the moment and what more to expect from DDD in the near future…
