Stereoscopic 3D Trailer for the Animated Movie Open Season

June 3rd, 2010 · 7 Comments · 3D Movies & Videos

More good news for today, another stereoscopic 3D trailer available for download thanks to ReMichael, this time the trailer is for the movie Open Season which is another animation also soon coming to Blu-ray 3D. It seems that the first wave of movie titles on Blu-ray 3D will be all with animated movies and if you are eager to get Avatar in 3D, you’ll still have to wait more as it will probably be available in November as a bundle with Panasonic and maybe next year as a separate title on Blu-ray 3D. But back on the trailer for Open Season, here the 3D effect is not so wowing, instead the separation is less and the movie offers nice depth feeling, making it seem more natural and comfortable to watch. Of course the trailer is in Full HD resolution, Side by Side format, so you can enjoy it in a very good quality when opening with 3D Vision Video Player or the Stereoscopic Player. And as usual if you download and watch the trailer, please share your comments below…

But besides the fourth movie of the series coming out in 3D, DreamWorks has more good news for us – they plan to re-release all of the previous three movies in 3D too later this year. There are two different versions of the teaser below that you can download, the content is the same, just the compression used is different. The first version is a bit smaller and with H.264/AVC compression and the second one is a bit bigger in terms of file size and uses DivX compression. If you have trouble playing the first version, then you can try downloading the second version…

And as we are talking about an animated movie that has been entirely computer generated you can expect to have a good true stereo 3D versions available of Shrek, Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third on Blu-ray 3D later this year. You can also see a complete list of upcoming 3D movies to hit the theaters this year in the Forum, with information if they are going to be 2D to 3D conversion or true stereo 3D…
