Thanks to biohemmet.se we now have the 3D trailer for the movie Astro Boy available in stereo 3D Side by Side format. The video is in 1080p half resolution (squashed) so you should not forget to select the 16:9 aspect ratio in the 3D Vision Video Player or the Stereoscopic Player when opening it to get the correct image proportions. Astro Boy is also going to be available in Blu-ray 3D soon, so we have the BD 3D movies covered pretty good with animation, but what about live action movies in 3D… not that there are a lot shot in 3D yet, but still. We’ve already had a lower resolution version of the 3D trailer for the movie How to Train Your Dragon, but now thanks to ReMichael we also have a slightly different stereo 3D trailer for the movie in Full HD resolution, Side by Side format. You can download the new higher quality trailer and enjoy it while waiting for the movie to be released on Blu-ray 3D maybe later this year if we are lucky, or more likely next year if we are not…

More good news for today, another stereoscopic 3D trailer available for download thanks to ReMichael, this time the trailer is for the movie Open Season which is another animation also soon coming to Blu-ray 3D. It seems that the first wave of movie titles on Blu-ray 3D will be all with animated movies and if you are eager to get Avatar in 3D, you’ll still have to wait more as it will probably be available in November as a bundle with Panasonic and maybe next year as a separate title on Blu-ray 3D. But back on the trailer for Open Season, here the 3D effect is not so wowing, instead the separation is less and the movie offers nice depth feeling, making it seem more natural and comfortable to watch. Of course the trailer is in Full HD resolution, Side by Side format, so you can enjoy it in a very good quality when opening with 3D Vision Video Player or the Stereoscopic Player.
