The Pirates! Band of Misfits is an upcoming stop-motion animated (or should I say claymation instead of animation) 3D movie, and embedded here you can take a look at the official movie trailer in stereo 3D format (the audio is in Russian) and there is also a 2D version with English audio you can watch online here. The Pirates! Band of Misfits looks like a really fun movie to watch and the visual style you get in it is also appealing, especially when you couple all that with being made in 3D. The movie should be available the movie theaters in 3D starting April 27th for US and Canada (earlier in Europe) and you can also find more about specific countries’ release dates on the official website of the movie. It seems that in Germany Warner Bros has an official YouTube channel where today they’ve started uploading 3D movie trailers for their new movies and the first one is for the movie Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, have in mind though that the audio is in German. You can watch the stereo 3D trailer embedded above in YouTube 3D format, this movie apparently as been shot in 3D and is not a conversion and if you still haven’t seen it in the cinema, it just recently premiered, then you might get an idea on what to expect from the 3D in it. Here you can also find the 3D trailer with English audio, although the video appears to be made for the Russian market.
The second stereo 3D trailer also available in the channel is for the upcoming movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, also shot in 3D and with audio in German. The Hobbit is still a bit far from appearing in movie theaters, it should premiere near the end of this year, so the trailer might give you some idea on what to expect from it as well. Again this movie as with Journey 2 is being shot in 3D and is not a conversion to 3D, so the expectations are quite high, especially considering what story the movies is based on. If you still haven’t seen the stereo 3D trailer for the upcoming movie Men in Black 3, then you should take a look at it, although the stereoscopic 3D trailer still hasn’t made it on the official website of the movie, it has been available for a while already on 3net’s YouTube channel. Have in mind that the movie was not shot in 3D, and was instead converted to 3D in post-production, but the end results judging from the trailer are not bad.
