When you are out in the field shooting photos or videos in 3D, no matter if it is just for fun or for work, you may need to have a handy stereoscopic 3D base calculator that can help you quickly get the right interaxial distance you need for a shot instead of having you to adjust things and previewing then readjusting etc. And what better way for a stereo base calculator to be always handy than to be on your smartphone and in your pocket, no matter if it is iPhone, with Android OS or Windows Mobile
3D Movie Calculator for iPhone
The 3D Movie Calculator application calculates the correct interaxial (sometimes wrongly referred to as intraocular) from a small set of parameters entered by the user, based on his shooting setup. The primary inputs are the far and near distances of objects in the scene and the settings of the camera – lens focal length, camera sensor size, the size of the screen you are shooting for and the amount of depth effect you desire. The interaxial output is the correct distance between the cameras for the shot you have setup. The application is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and it requires iOS version 3.1.3 or newer installed on your device. It is available on the App Store for $30.99 USD.
