The 3D Entertainment Summit is an event that is focused on how the 3D entertainment transformation is affecting the business of entertainment, it is the event of choice for the key players in 3D entertainment across theatrical, broadcast, television, gaming, advertising and alternate content. In it’s fourth year, the 3D Entertainment Summit is going to bring thought leaders from around the globe to analyze where 3D has been and more importantly where it is headed. This will be the second year for The 3D Gaming Summit, an event focused entirely on 3D gaming, and it will for the first time be held in conjunction with The 4th Annual 3D Entertainment Summit in Hollywood. The 3D@Home Consortium, together with the American Optometric Association is organizing a Clinical Symposium on 3D Vision and Health on March 15th at the SUNY College of Optometry, 33 West 42nd Street in New York. The goal of the symposium is to cover the topic that is generating a lot of controversy lately with the constantly increasing interest in 3D technology, and that is if the stereoscopic 3D displayed on a screen can be bad for your eyes and vision or that is a total myth. There will be specialists in both the technological and the medical field, so it would be good event for anyone interested as an enthusiast or a professional.
The 3D@Home Consortium was formed in 2008 with the mission to speed the commercialization of 3D into homes worldwide and provide the best possible viewing experience by facilitating the development of standards, roadmaps and education for the entire 3D industry – from content, hardware and software providers to consumers. Industry leaders from all segments of the supply chain have joined together to meet the goals, including: 3D content creators, developers and editors, broadcasting and distribution companies, software, hardware and workflow tool manufacturers, standards bodies, and research and educational institutions.

DogVille 3D Film Festival of Stereo 3D Short films (Former FICS-3D) will be the first international independent Short Film Festival of videos made with 3D Digital Stereo technology ever carried out in Spain. It will take place in the town of Viladecans, Barcelona on the 15th and 16th of April 2011. This festival, organized by AEI DIFIS-3D, will be an opportunity to get to know the works in digital video in 3D Stereo format of amateurs, professionals and producers. The event will also generate discussion and it will be a chance to update the existing knowledge among experts in the media arts of 3D.
Being a first festival of reference in this area it has obtained the support of 3Dintegral SL, LA SALLE-URL, TV3, the Eurostereofoundation and the Stéréo Club Français. These are institutions with extensive experience in organizing international events in the audiovisual and technology world. In addition to the screening of the selected short films, along with the contest, there will be a free exhibition, round tables, workshops and conferences in which 3D professionals will find a space to showcase their technological innovations in the new world of three-dimensional technology.
Participation and submission of short films to the Festival is open to any individual or group of amateurs and professionals who independently make short videos in digital 3D Stereo format. The three categories accepted for the festival are: 3D Professional short film, 3D Amateur short film and S-3D Animation short film. The type of the short video is not limited, so it can be a reportage, fiction, animation, experimental, documentary or another genre or type of video.
