Stereoscopic 3D Trailer for the Animated Movie Monster House

June 3rd, 2010 · 1 Comment · 3D Movies & Videos

Thanks to Matheus we now have a short stereoscopic 3D trailer for the animated movie Monster House available for download in a Full HD Side by Side stereo format. The animation is a bit old (I haven’t seen it in a movie theater), form 2006, but it seems that soon it will be available on Blu-ray 3D, so you should take a look at what you can expect from the movie. The stereo 3D effect seemed quite good in the trailer, although I noticed that there are some annoying cuts the the characters, especially their heads on the top, that should be popping out of the screen and it can be a bit uncomfortable. Anyway the stereo 3D trailer seems to be from a movie release as its aspect ratio is wider, in a 16:9 version for Blu-ray 3D there might be no issues with that (I hope), so the experience will most likely be more comfortable. If you download and watch the trailer you are more than welcome to share your comments about it and the movie in the comments section below.

Shame on James Cameron for still not releasing a stereoscopic 3D version of the trailer for Avatar, but still trying to convince us to go watch the movie in 3D by just showing us some “flat” teasers and trailers with scenes from the movie. But the official 3D trailer has made its appearance online in some sort of an unofficial way and you can already download it and watch it on your own stereoscopic 3D-capable setup at home. The 3D trailer is available in Side by Side format, so you’ll need to tell the 3D Vision Video Player or the Stereoscopic Player and select that when opening the file with aspect ratio of 16:9. You should of course be able to play the video with other respective video players and 3D setups that do support this format, although this is especially for 3D Vision owners. And if you download and try the trailer, please don’t forget to let me know in the comments how do you find the auto conversion to S3D…
