Can't get HDMI audio to play from my laptop to receiver. HDMI High Definition Audio doesn't show up in playback devices. I have 'show disabled' and 'show disconnected' devices checked in the sound window. I think it is the EDID from the Pioneer receiver. I loaded Monitor Asset Manager and it shows the Pioneer receiver with audio capabilities in Real-Rime but not in Registry-Active. No sure on how to create an info to override the registry settings.
The GeForce Control Panel sees the receiver in 'Set up digital Audio' but when you click 'Open Windows Sound Settings' only Speakers and SPDIF Interface (TX0) shows up. Here is my setup:

ASUS G75V Laptop
NVidia GeForce 670M
Pioneer VSX1122-K Receiver
Panasonic PT-AE7000U Projector
NVidia 3DTVPlay
NVidia 3DVision IR Transmitter (To activate 3DTVPlay)

Any help would be appreciated!!

Hi Guys,

I just finished setting up my vsx-1122-k with my Windows 8 pc. I use 2 GTX 570's (EVGA SuperClocked edition), and am having the same trouble you seem to. Connecting with HDMI out to both a Sony PSTV, and also the VSX-1122, I can only see the Sony PSTV in my Windows Sounds>Playback menu, and there is no option to enable or set as default the VSX-1122.

I've upgraded from a VSX-1020-k, and that was recognized with no issue.

Have either of you had any luck in getting connected?

I've only used SPDIF to connect a receiver. If your laptop supports it enable in the bios and get some rca's. If this worked in windows 7 (meaning you upgraded, revert back)
