Hii bloody,
I think u would be aware of gtx 690 which is coming to market on may 3 . I have finally decided to get my pc by this weekend .

Iam going to hook up 3 asus vg278h monitors in 3d vision surround . gtx 690 performs similar to gtx 680 sli . gtx 690 has 2gb vram per gpu .

So my question is

1. will 2gb vram on gtx 690 will bottleneck 5760X1080 resolution@ 3d with max settings ?

2. or should i consider getting 4gb gtx 680 sli ?

I posted the same question on toms hardware and overclock.net but people says that 2gb vram is enough even for surround but i felt it doesnt make sense .

Thanks in advance for your reply .

Yes the gtx 690 will equal 4gb ram total but 2 gtx 680's would be a total of 8gb ram if you wait for the 4gb versions. I think a 690 would be fine and would be cheaper then 2 680's. I have 2 680's 2gb each card (4gb total) and havent had any trouble while gaming in 3d. I am playing crysis 2 in 3d with dx11 plus blackfire graphics mod and its awesome.

3D Vision Surround setup would require more memory than a single 3D monitor system.

The higher resolution combined with AA filtering could benefit from more memory for sure, but I cannot say if more than 2GB would make a difference at this point or even if 2GB will be enough, this would require some testing to be performed with more recent and more demanding titles to confirm.

A single GTX 690 should be just slightly slower at stock frequencies than two GTX 680s in SLI, but going for a GTX 690 with 4GB per GPU could be a bit problematic - either such a card would be significantly more expensive or there won't be even models with 4GB per GPU or 8GB in total (space is limited on the board due to the 2 GPUs). So going for two GTX 680 with 4GB could be the better thing to do...
