The 3D@Home Consortium, together with the American Optometric Association is organizing a Clinical Symposium on 3D Vision and Health on March 15th at the SUNY College of Optometry, 33 West 42nd Street in New York. The goal of the symposium is to cover the topic that is generating a lot of controversy lately with the constantly increasing interest in 3D technology, and that is if the stereoscopic 3D displayed on a screen can be bad for your eyes and vision or that is a total myth. There will be specialists in both the technological and the medical field, so it would be good event for anyone interested as an enthusiast or a professional.

Quote:
The 3D@Home Consortium was formed in 2008 with the mission to speed the commercialization of 3D into homes worldwide and provide the best possible viewing experience by facilitating the development of standards, roadmaps and education for the entire 3D industry – from content, hardware and software providers to consumers. Industry leaders from all segments of the supply chain have joined together to meet the goals, including: 3D content creators, developers and editors, broadcasting and distribution companies, software, hardware and workflow tool manufacturers, standards bodies, and research and educational institutions.
