Can you write here what do you do step by step to instal EDID override driver (with screenshots) on Samsung 700G7C? In my opinion you haven't instaled it correctly.

Ok, I see Reverse. I am sorry but I am not sure I can help you very much. The 675 GPU seems to be capable of both Optimus and 3D. It is however the Laptop provider that choose what functionality to active and what to turn off. The question is if it can be turned on and off on the driver level or if you need to go down to the hardware level. I am not sure of this. But if it is on the driver level, one could maybe find (or write) some tweak that allow you to turn on what you like.

I don't think you can do that with only software, there is a different wiring of the GPU with and without Optimus available.

This guy is right. The connectors (including the LVDS) are only connected to the Intel GPU, while the nVidia GPU's output is routed to the Intel GPU and then out the output. They have to be serial since those connectors are of course made for 1:1 connection, not something like 2:1 so it is not possible to switch. What i don't get though: Why can't we have 120Hz anyway? Is there a problem with the sync of the frequencies with the glasses? I would like to hear someone from nVidia answer this question, since it doesn't make sense to me currently why i can't have 120Hz/3D vision. Also this means you will probably get it to work since you don't have optimus; the problem here is, as far as i remember that the driver doesn't support 3D Vision on the 6xxM GPUs yet. At least that's what i can recall from a thread on the nvidia forums, but I'm not entirely sure about this.

(P.S.: Maybe the Intel GPU sets the sync / frequency of the screen? Why isn't there a driver interface that makes it possible to have both 3D Vision and Optimus? Maybe nVidia was just lazy after all?)

It seems as the LG display you sent is installed, see attached. I install it via the device manager:

1. In the device manager I select my monitor
2. update driver
3 "Let me pick from a list...."
4. "Have a disk..." Browse to the EDID file, select it
5. I untick "show compatible drivers", I then select the LG (or any other EDID dirvers) - see attached
6. Windows installs the driver, succesfully
7 I restart windows

8. I install the 3d vision driver by extracting it from any Geforce GPU (I have tried several)
9. Then I get the Error message "that the panel is not 3d vision compatible"
10. I repeat the same procedure but with an other EDID (tried 3 different thus far)

I have now Nvidia's 3d Vision kit also - got it today. Any ideas on how to proceed? Do you have a bunch of other EDID files for laptops maybe? This might work if we can trick the 3d vision installer somehow...

I have found another method, which is mentioned here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showth ... t=18435064

However to test it - we need 285.62 driver from GTX 580m with modified nv_disp.inf (hacked inf) to get that driver to work with GTX 675m.

//EDIT:
Here http://blog.komeil.com/2010/04/nvidia-d ... aptop.html you can find a solution to instal different drivers on Nvidia GPU. There you can download 285.62 modified inf driver (I'm not sure if that driver will work with 675m) and follow the instruction to instal it correctly.
Remember to uninstall your previous Nvidia driver completely, before installing new ones.

I hope you will post here your results as soon as possible.

Thanks for the suggestion, I am on it Felix...

Ok, I have played around with your suggestions Felix, the problem now is to get the 285,62 drivers to work.

Also, I am not sure how to implement this inf-file from http://blog.komeil.com/2010/04/nvidia-d ... aptop.html into the suggestions from here http://www.overclock.net/t/1242216/3d-v ... l-guide/30.

I have posted more detailed results here (under Lordadeluss):

http://www.overclock.net/t/1242216/3d-v ... l-guide/30

I will see if they have any suggestions...

If you are using older drivers such as 285.62 you may be able to use the Generic CRT mode to make it work with 3D Vision, as this has been removed in the newer driver versions. This would not require you to use any kind of EDID override driver...

You need to download the 285.62 driver (http://www.siliconguide.com/drivers/device/2191/) and modified INF file (before posting that message I have edited the file, so now it should support 675m GPU), which is attached to this post.

"Copy that inf at the same folder your non-working Nvidia display driver (285.62) had previously extracted (e.g., C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\version\WinVista_Win7\language\Display.Driver) and run setup.exe just inside of its upper folder."

After that -> follow the previous instruction http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showth ... t=18435064

@Bloody
Where we can get to know more about Generic CRT mode? Have you written an article on your blog about it? It is always another method to try.
