I have a Benq xl2420T that I run with the usb 3d vision glasses. I had been noticing a single white horizontal line about 20% from the bottom anytime I'd enter dark environments in-game. Then it became apparent that there were horizontal lines with deep divisions most noticeably in the upper right hand corner and the lower left corner. I know these are the way the 3d vision monitor works displaying an interlaced pattern for each eye but this did not seem right, like it was a defect. I noticed though that 2D mode did not display any of this and that using 3d vision in a lower resolution also didn't display these issues.

I thought that maybe the dvi cable couldn't push the amount of information I needed or that it was a crap cable. You see when I opened the box the power cable did not work (odd) and I was provided with vga and dvi-i (<this is what I used) cables with the monitor. So as it turns out I purchased a DisplayPort 1.2 cable and replaced the dvi-i. I noticed significant changes in color vibrancy and definition. Playing in 3d vision I no longer noticed the horizontal interlaced lines nor the single horizontal line. This is great I thought...

Well I use Standard picture mode and there are color temperature adjustments for Normal, Bluish, Reddish, and User Mode. I have it on Normal and never experienced any problems until yesterday. I plugged the dvi-i in to work on my friend's pc. I noticed his boot screen had a green tint, weird I thought. Then I switched over to my desktop on the DisplayPort and everything was green!! Well I changed the Display Mode and the color problem went away. If I put it into Standard under Normal or Bluish everything has a green tint, under Reddish everything has a bright pink/red tint, and in User Mode everything is fine.

I started a game in 3d vision and it was green. I noticed that I had unplugged my 3d vision glasses but that 3d vision was still on in the NVCP and that somehow it had switched to 3d vision discover, the anaglyph mode. Plugged the usb glasses back in and 3d vision was fine.

My problem is that Standard Mode Normal, Bluish, and Reddish still have their color problem. This problem still exists if I use the dvi-i or vga cable. I will attempt to reinstall drivers and the xl2420T.icm later this evening.

Okay I've reinstalled Nvidia 313.96 drivers, reinstalled icc profile and attempted driver update for monitor but Windows one was already current. I have Reset Color under the Picture Menu on the Monitor and Reset All under System Menu. I still have this problem of Standard mode Color Temperature being stuck in Green tint for Normal and Bluish modes, and Pink tint for Reddish mode. When I tried installing the drivers, first it failed, I restored Nvidia defaults in NVCP, then the installation worked but the funny thing is during installation the screen turned Green with some black on the bottom kind of like the old defrag screen (blocks). Very strange...

I swear though that the colors I'm seeing are the same ones represented in Anaglyph mode. Red/Blue/Green. This must be a driver problem. This is the situation as it stands now: My monitor was in 3d mode through DisplayPort, but I had removed the usb glasses, plugged in dvi-i to another computer and switched input mode. This is the point where everything turned green. My guess is that the Nvidia driver defaulted to anaglyph mode but then the monitor, being in 3d mode and then moving to a different source got mixed up? Now I'm stuck with these colors...

As I said before every other mode works and Standard Mode under User defined color temperature setting is fine, no alteration. Just Normal, Bluish, and Reddish modes have been altered. I'll attempt to rollback drivers and remove the 3d vision glasses as well as replace the monitor. Then move on to re-seating video card. Does anyone know of a program to remove Nvidia registry settings?

Okay so I've gone through everything I said I'd do and there has been no change. I found this forum thread: and the user Ruzhyo there has the same issue but with the Benq xl2420tx. I've removed the 3d vision glasses from the usb and installed the new Nvidia drivers without the glasses.

Now if I turn 3d Vision to anaglyph I can play fine in Standard: User Mode (Red/Cyan) but when I switch between the Normal/Bluish and Reddish modes I lose the left (Red) image and the right (blue/green) image respectively. There is definitely something going on with Nvidia's Anaglyph 3d Vision driver. This has apparently altered my monitor's inner calibration settings. Anaglyph mode is not hardware dependent so I can't see how this is possible?

Please if anyone has any input I could use some insight. I've attempted to contact Ruzhyo through his steam account and I will attempt to contact Benq support. I don't have any hope that Benq will solve or even acknowledge my problem but it's the last thing I can think of. Oh and the white line I used to see when 3d mode is enabled is clearly still there. When 3d vision is disabled my monitor still finds ways to go into 3d mode and it is quite annoying. Of all the things I can complain about though I really like this monitor so it's strange to have all these quirks.
