Im more wondering if its a problem with getting monitors to work correctly with lightboost on a 27 inch screen size. The asus has problems and now it seems like the acer which doesn't have problems in the non lightboost bmiiid version is having serious problems to in its bbmiiid lightboost version. mabye nvidia is pushing lightboost before its ready monitor side?

We'll see what is the situation with the new 24-inch BenQ 3D monitors with Lightboost that are becoming available...

The benq xl2420t with msrp of 550 usd and the xl2420tx at 650 usd (TX coming with nvision 2) the same price as the Asus vg278h with kit also makes me wonder if Asus and Acer are cutting price at the expense of quality or if the benq is going to be that's much better?

Does the ASUS 27' has the same kind of problem with the lightboost ? I guess no because noone is mentionning that particulary kind of problem but if yes the problem can be as it has been said before the 27-lightboost combination.
The fact is that the problem is so obvious on my screen that it s nearly impossible that nobody has noticed it on the ASUS...

What exactly are u seeing? The problem with lightboost monitors atm seems to be the backlight bleeding mostly in the shape of a oval, also weird noises and the occasional dead black screen. That I know of.

Like I said, and sorry to descrive it badly english is not my natural language, the stereo 3D mode seems interleaved : 1 vertical line / 2 is far more darker than its neighbor. For example : take a yellow cube, one column is yellow the other is dark yellow the next yellow and so on...
The phenomenom is very obvious for far distance objects or background (sky for example) and is almost invisible but still present on very close object. It s not an epiphenomenom. It strikes me the first time I have run a game (same on 3D movie). On my Acer 24 the stereo 3D image is perfect so I have been able to compare.

Increasing separation (depth) of the stereo 3D image should make the problem more obvious.

I have sent back the acer and have replaced it with an asus vg278h (which, so far, does not show any problems of its own, cough).

I can thus positively confirm that the weird interleaved appearance of stereo 3d is unique to the acer and most definitely an error. Whether in hardware or software remains to be seen, as the panel seems to be working just fine in 2d even at 120 hz refresh rate.

Can you please check at the label of the back of your Asus display when it has been produced?

I hope that Amazon.de will see it that way and will provide me a full refund (postal fee included ...60 € :( ). Because if they call this problem a "feature" it will be a looong time before I will be able to afford another 27 :)
