For e.x what do you Bloody prefere in gaming with this screen!

Do you use the Game mode or just the Standard mode in 2D gaming ?
Colours seems a little weak in game mode a little washed out so anything you Bloody or others can tell me to play around with ?

I have lowered the Contrast and brightness as it seems way to high as allways from factory setting :)

And tracefree at 60 who is default seems nice to me and maybe im lucky as i cant really see any crosstalk in 3D at factory default 76 Contrast so all seems well there!

Crosstalk is much better with this screen then on my previous XL2420T and as I have never used 27 inch before im totaly floored this thing is frikking HUGE

Here are the settings I'm currently using on the Asus for 2D (in Standard mode), after setting them the monitor is color calibrated for better color accuracy:
Brightness – 80
Contrast – 75
Color temperature, RGB – 85, 77, 76
Trace Free – 80

This gets the monitor brightness in 2D mode to about 180 cd/m2 which I find suitable for my normal everyday usage in 2D mode, I like a bit higher brightness…

In stereo 3D mode the difference is that I have the Contrast set to 55 to further reduce the crosstalk as I play with high levels of separation ;)

Alright then I will play around with these settings and leave the game mode alone, not that I will play much it 2D but nice to have it set up
properly so thanks a lot mate!

I really like high separation to, well if around 50 - 60% is high but more make me dizzy atleast for now as this monitor is a big monster

So glad that I send back the benq XL2420T as this monitor feels way better at everything and 27 is the way to go only from now on ;)

Hi, I'm just starting to tweak my Asus Vg278H settings! Currently I have it set to game mode and I reduced it quite a bit from default to 56 brightness 75 contrast and Normal Color mode. This seems pretty good but now I'm trying "Normal Mode" and I made my settings like Bloody except I left color temp at Normal. What is trace free used for? Mine is currently set at 60. This is a great monitor aside from one dead pixel which I never notice unless background is completely black. I'll try and lower the contrast for 3D to reduce the crosstalk as well. Thanks for any/all tips. As I mentioned in this thread I have an issue with how the monitor is seen in device mgr and refresh rate issues> I posted a bunch of pictures. You guys have this issue? Thx

Was actually looking for a calibration with a light level around 120cd/m2 since I usually play my video games in a dark room with only a bit of ambient lighting from other computers in the room. After doing some searching, I stumbled on a French forum where someone had some 120cd/m2 and 160cd/m2 presets under D65 or D55 temperatures for the VG278H using an X-Rite i1 Display Pro. On top of that the user has provided the ICC profiles for download.

All source information can be found here:

http://forum.hardware.fr/hfr/HardwarePe ... 791_19.htm

I would recommend to view it as it has more technical details on the color reproduction done for the monitor. For example the D65 120cd/m2 setup has a color return of around 6524K from the calibration so its close enough not to care.

Here is a quick summary of the OSD settings and thereafter download/apply the appropriate ICC. Since I don't know how to speak french, someone who is fluent should check if the user mentioned which mode, but I made the assumption they were using standard mode. Also note, I don't use this monitor on my computer but instead use it as a "TV" for my consoles. So far the D65 120cd/m2 setup works for me.

D65 120cd/m2:

Temperature: 6500K
Luminescence: 120cd/m2

Brightness: 14
Contrast: 66
RGB: 100/96/88

D55 120cd/m2:

Temperature: 5500K
Luminescence: 120cd/m2

Brightness: 19
Contrast: 66
RGB: 100/90/76

D65 160cd/m2:

Temperature: 6500K
Luminescence: 160cd/m2

Brightness: 30
Contrast: 66
RGB: 100/98/88

ICC Profile:

D55 160cd/m2:

Temperature: 5500K
Luminescence: 160cd/m2

Brightness: 38
Contrast: 66
RGB: 100/90/76

For 3D mode I left the contrast the same at 66 since I can't be bothered to change it and my Trace Free set to 40 as I did notice some negative ghosting occurring above that. Credit goes to ShagoY for posting the calibration settings and profiles. Enjoy the settings for those who use it.
