Hi,

How do I get Frame Sequential 3D with my

SA700, 4870x2 card (soon upgrading to a hd7850)?

When I run the launcher all I get is side by side.

To run the setup I followed this guide:

Uninstall TriDef completely and install only the Samsung OEM version of the software, try it first to see that it works properly.

Then, if everything is Ok, uninstall it (the license for your Samsung monitor should be already installed) and install the normal version of the software without going trough the monitor setup menu and it should be working fine.

Thanks I'll give that a try.

edit - the only software which came with my monitor was a cd for a user manual.

On the front of the cd it says:
- monitor driver
- syncmaster 3d game launcher (tri def) (1.1)

but when I explore the cd there is no tri def software.

see screen shot, hence why I followed the guide in the link in my previous post to get it to work. Otherwise just by installing the triDef software ( http://www.tridef.com/download/TriDef-3D-latest.html ) alone my display would not be detected and I had licence issues.

Also there seemed to be a fix but it was for a different monitor. I did post a reply in the tri def forums but their support is very poor.

I have followed these steps also and still no joy

1. Uninstall all amd catalyst drivers and reboot
2. Install s23a700d monitor driver from Samsung website (I did digital)
3. Download and install Samsung game launcher
4. Download and install tridef and reboot (Following procedure in link on previous post)
5. Install gfx card display driver 12.4 beta and reboot
6. Go to Samsung game launcher and go to tools change manufacter to default monitor display and the change the next tab to 3d stereo 120hz
7. Launch game and turn the glasses on!

In Step 2. When I installed the driver it could not obviously assign it to a display driver as Catalyst wasn't installed. I take it that was normal?

In step 6. I have set my Manufacturer to (standard display types) and the Model is Direct 3D Stereo (120hz). WHen the game launches it says - 3D is currently disabled. Your graphics hardware is not comptatible with AMD HD3D Technology.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i wish i knew this before but fs is only supported by amd 5000 series cards or higher. just want to close this thread off.

This is the OEM software that includes the license for the Samsung display:

Sorry, didn't see you are using an older 4870x2 card, you should be able to get it working after you upgrade, meanwhile stick to the Side by Side, it is not that much worse... just loosing a bit of extra details.

Don't wont to argue, but TriDef solution on SA700 is a joke(at least with a GTX460 Nvidia card).
Not to mention is a real pain to set it working, and the SBS image is nowhere near like what you get with 3D Vision workaround 'frame sequential'
