This is something that you must check out in 3D. A short stereoscopic 3D motion-controlled (moco) time-lapse video footage shot in San Francisco showing: server farms, indoor gardens, and brilliant artist/sculptor Jeremy Mayer building intricate and lifelike “robots” out of typewriter parts. Thanks to Peter H. Chang for sharing his impressive work, the music in the video is by Michael McCann “Icarus” from Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Canon 5D Mark II digital cameras were used in both parallel and beamsplitter configurations for true, native stereo capture at 5.6K resolution RAW and camBLOCK and Dynamic Perception were used for motion control. You can see a 2D version of the video here, but you should definitely watch the 3D version as well. You can also download the 3D video from the link below (it is the YouTube 3D version embedded above), the video is in Side by Side format with half horizontal resolution (squashed), so don’t forget to select 16:9 aspect ratio when opening it in the 3D Vision Video Player or the Stereoscopic Player. As usual feel free to share your comments about the video below.

Here is an interesting 3D video of an old DHL advertisement, it is a 3D conversion of a 2D broadcast, but the results are really convincing, although the video quality is not perfect. This is an example of a proper conversion from 2D to 3D and how convincing it can be, so if you don’t know you might think it is actually a 3D clip. The conversion has been done by Vision III & Hnk 3D and they are offering the 3D clip for download on their website in both Side by Side format (half horizontal resolution) and in anaglyph Red/Cyan version. You need to fill in a form to get to the download of the video. You can watch the original DHL advertisement in 2D if you want to compare it with the converted to 3D version. The advertisement is a bit weird, but it doesn’t matter, just look for the stereoscopic 3D effect in it.

Lumitone is the story of a lonely music box who dances to electric dreams and sings with spectral audacity, created by Aaron Bradbury. The video is already available on multiple online 3D streaming websites where you can watch it and I also have a download link available in MP4 format which is essentially the 1080p 3D version of the clip available on YouTube. It looks very nice in stereoscopic 3D format, so you should take a look and leave your comments about it below.
