Mint Julep – To the Sea, an Experimental 3D Wiggle Music Video

February 23rd, 2012 · 4 Comments · 3D Movies & Videos

You have probably seen some animated 3D photos using the wiggle method to create the illusion of depth in a photo by quickly rotating the left and right eye views of a 3D photo (and with more than two views for more convincing and seamless effect), but here comes what is probably the first 3D video using this method. To the Sea is a an experimental music video of the group Mint Julep using 3D wiggle and the end result is actually quite good and interesting to watch, so do take a look and feel free to leave your comments about it below.

kinda cool. I can only watch it for so long… but a nice creative effort.

Cool. Very similar to the conversion of 2D to 3D. Sometimes noticeable distortion.

This video is amazing, but I have a quick correction on the “first 3D video using this method” claim! Here’s a music video called “Battlestar” from way back in 2009 that uses the same effect: http://vimeo.com/4658601
