Journey 2 and The Hobbit Official 3D Trailers in German

February 13th, 2012 · 8 Comments · 3D Movies & Videos

It seems that in Germany Warner Bros has an official YouTube channel where today they’ve started uploading 3D movie trailers for their new movies and the first one is for the movie Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, have in mind though that the audio is in German. You can watch the stereo 3D trailer embedded above in YouTube 3D format, this movie apparently as been shot in 3D and is not a conversion and if you still haven’t seen it in the cinema, it just recently premiered, then you might get an idea on what to expect from the 3D in it. Here you can also find the 3D trailer with English audio, although the video appears to be made for the Russian market.

The second stereo 3D trailer also available in the channel is for the upcoming movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, also shot in 3D and with audio in German. The Hobbit is still a bit far from appearing in movie theaters, it should premiere near the end of this year, so the trailer might give you some idea on what to expect from it as well. Again this movie as with Journey 2 is being shot in 3D and is not a conversion to 3D, so the expectations are quite high, especially considering what story the movies is based on. Feel free to share your comments below for the 3D trailers of these two movies…

I’m particularly interested in The Hobbit, as it’s being shot at 48fps.

This should really boost the 3D immersion by reducing blur and strobing, and great for 2D as well.

is the 3d in movie theaters anywhere near as good as a 3d bluray?

Josh, it depends, the version of a movie you see in theaters is different as it is usually with wider aspect ratio and the 3D is optimized for the larger screen used in theaters. So the end result and the feeling from the 3D effect you get form a Blu-ray 3D movie and watching the same movie in 3D in a theater can be different…

About 48fps… would that require cinemas to buy new equipment, or the movie media is compatible with current players and projectors?

Is there a download anywhere of the 3D trailer in 48p? Youtube only does 30p and the trailer on youtube is only 25p.

I downloaded the videos but I get only sound in 3d-vision stereoscopic player. In vlc they work.

hjk105, you may not have the right video codecs installed or setup correctly in the Stereoscopic Player, check the options of the player.
