Toshiba Spectacle 3D, The First 3D Monocle Is Finally Here…

April 1st, 2011 · 8 Comments · General 3D News

Coming straight from Toshiba you are soon going to be getting the first 3D monocle, a real technological innovation among all the 3D-capable solutions available today… and with it you are going to be able to see so real stereoscopic 3D effects, just like in real life. Finally someone doing the April 1st joke tied to 3D technology and they did went to quite some lengths to make it look legit, and if you think this is simply impossible, then just close one of your eyes… and… it is a miracle, you still see in everything around you 3D, so a 3D monocle can be made, right? And if you wear two of these, then WOW you get double the experience… it is a 6D experience… a really innovative and groundbreaking technology coming from Toshiba… ;)

Toshiba is really going to be on the edge of the new wave of glasses-free 3D technology, ops, half glasses-free technology as you will still have to wear the monocle on one eye, or if you get two monocles for the full 6D experience, then it will be full glasses 3D technology. And one important warning from Toshiba “Refrain from using two Toshiba Spectacle 3D devices simultaneously in each eye. Doing so may cause each device to render the corresponding 3D image in 3D yet again, resulting in an uncomfortable and infinite loop.” So are you ready to get your new Toshiba Spectacle 3D… monocle? :P

More information about the ingenious Toshiba Spectacle 3D technological breakthrough…

That could work as Pulfrich or side by side or over and under.
But they are not the World’s first. I have being selling my jpsOneEye glasses for 5 years now.

Reminds me to the shop assistant that explained to me that You can take 3D pictures with the ONE lens camera inside Nintendos’s 3DS. She pushed up and down the 3D slider and asked “Can’t You see the difference?” At least she admitted that the pictures taken with the two cameras on the outside of the 3DS provide “a little more 3D effect” LOL

This is not a very good joke as the actual one eye devices for viewing stereoscopic images exist.

A german company has once-1998? shown at photokina a sort of prims-system for cameras to record dual-image-videos . They could then be viewed with mono KMQ-glasses. Simply cut into halves. One could also go nearer. More comfortable and very cheap are NVP3D.com -prism-glasses for 13 chf only. Berezin has them too. Viewing directly oncreen-SDM-cameras or Youtube3D etc.
