Honda Civic Type R Onboard Stereo 3D Videos From Rally Vsetin 2010

October 28th, 2010 · 8 Comments · 3D Movies & Videos

Here are two more interesting stereoscopic 3D videos shot by Jan Husak from donein3D at Rally Vsetin 2010 in Czech Republic. Both videos were shot with the help of two GoPro HD HERO cameras that can shoot 1080p Full HD video at 30 fps as well as 720p at 60 fps. The two cameras were mounted together side by side on a custom made mini 3D rig and the end result certainly is looking quite good, not to mention that we still haven’t god such onboard video footage available in stereo 3D format…

The first video is with the cameras mounted inside the cockpit of a Honda Civic Type R, showing the driving action from inside with the driver and the navigator also visible, as well as the action going on the road through the front window. The video is in Side by Side format, 1080p half horizontal resolution (squashed), so you need to select 16:9 aspect ratio if you are opening it with the 3D Vision Video Player or the Stereoscopic Player. The video is also available in 3D over here at YouTube 3D, so you can take a look before downloading the higher quality version.

The second video is with the cameras mounted outside the car, on its front bumper, giving a lower and more interesting perspective of the road in front of the racing car. Of course it is again mounted on a Honda Civic Type R, so you can get a quite good feeling of speed.

You can’t yet, you can however open the YouTube video download link with the 3D Vision Video Player and watch it without having to download the clip first… or you can download it and open it in the player.

    how about this pack?
    ace mega codecs
it saved me when suddenly i couldnt view anymore avi-files from my compact-cams.

I wonder how you could synch the cams.
i started SDM 2 years ago, concentrating on 3dVideo since 6 months. do not have synch if cars are 32kmh-40cm apart. 2ofps/640×480.
