True Stereoscopic 3D Trailer of Avatar is Available on YouTube 3D

May 1st, 2010 · 17 Comments · 3D Movies & Videos

We finally have a true stereo 3D trailer for the movie Avatar available, it is in German, but that should not bother you much. The trailer was made available on YouTube 3D where you can watch it, but below you can also find download links for the full quality MP4 video saved from YouTube to watch with 3D Vision Video Player or the Stereoscopic Player. The video format is Side by Side and you need to select 16:9 aspect as the video is squashed into 1080p horizontal resolution. The quality is not the best possible, but is still quite good and the 3D effect is of course better than the autoconversions to 3D we already have for some time now. Don’t forget to leave your comments below if you watch the trailer…

And thanks to weir3d, who originally uploaded the stereo 3D trailer to YouTube, now we have the source with better quality and English audio. The file below is the Avatar true stereoscopic 3D trailer with the full quality, 1080p squashed (you need to select 16:9 aspect in the player!) in a Side by Side format.

    Hi weir3d,
thanks but when I try to download I get a message

“You have got max allowed bandwidth size per hour”

Do you need a premium account to download bigger than
    100MB, it doesn’t say?

Someone please re-upload this 1080P English 3D trailer to a better file hosting service?

When I try to view this Nvidia 3D vision player says “Could not render all streams. Maybe a codec necessary to play this file is not installed!” (before I even get to choose video format).

Playing the file in windows media player works fine (although with two images side by side rather than in 3d vision of course). Anyone know what this is about?

You need to have at least a free account to download from the link weir3d sent.

Thanks guys the .m2t quality is awesome. I had to add Cyberlink Powerdvd 10 codec to decoders for h264 in Stereoscopic Player because ffdshow didn’t display it correctly.

To use Stereoscopic Player you can simply convert the amazing .m2t file into a more compatible .wmv file.
    Download this free tool: http://www.pcfreetime.com/download.html
Chose “All to WMV” -> Add File -> All Files (*.*) -> Chose the M2T file and leave the default settings -> Ok -> Start
Enjoy the converted file in Stereoscopic Player in its best quality (it really rocks) !

Quality is decent but the stereoscopic effect still feels off. I wish an official version would be released

@Micah I may be wrong but this certainly feels like a rip of the real trailer to me. Props again to weir3d.

    @Micah
I think this is the official version. The trailer is shown on the German free private TV station ‘Anixe HD’ in the night when they show ‘Anixe 3D’ (currently they have a 3d tennis tournament, after that there’s a 3d cinema magazine with 3d avatar trailer) ;)

    Great!
This is one of my favourite movies ever!
If there could be something like that…But I think this is the only film of this type. At least for me.
